Services began at our present location on June 30, 1985. Within a short time our church was self-supporting and able to appoint its own elders. We were established as a particular church within the Bible Fellowship Church on April 26, 1987.

On August 23, 1987, our church called Pastor Ronald Erb to serve as its full-time pastor. During this time the church grew and quickly ran out of space. On May 3, 1998 our church was able to dedicate an educational wing with Sunday school classrooms, offices, and a multipurpose room for banquets, activities and larger classes.

In September 2006, Pastor Timothy Bertolet accepted the call to serve as our pastor.

Choose this day whom you will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” -Joshua 24:15

In 1984, Pocono Mountain Bible Fellowship Church started as a church plant from our sister church in Stroudsburg. Our organizing pastor was Pastor A.L. Siefert. Almost immediately the congregation began looking for a permanent location for worship.

Through a casual conversation at the local diner, one of our members was informed about the historic “Kirk in the Woods” Church.

After contacting the bank which had placed the building in a trust, our congregation began to make the repairs needed to use the church include repairing the roof, restoring the pews and original light fixtures. Even the original stained glass in window was repaired (left).
